Biography
Post-Doctoral Researcher
My research focuses on understanding protein structure and function using X-ray crystallography. Previously, I investigated the sensor histidine kinase FlrB from Vibrio cholerae, elucidating its structural basis and regulatory role in flagellar synthesis and signal transduction within bacterial two-component systems.
Currently, I work on β-lactamases involved in antibiotic resistance, focusing on the structural and functional characterization of different classes, including emerging variants with insertions. My research focuses on how these structural features influence enzyme activity and stability. I also investigate β-lactamase–inhibitor interactions using an integrated approach combining high-resolution X-ray crystallography, enzyme kinetics, and biophysical assays, with the goal of obtaining detailed structural insights into enzyme–ligand complexes.
