Laminar airflow

Laminar flow is a type of fluid flow in which the liquid or gas moves in smooth, parallel layers without mixing between them. The velocity of the fluid is orderly, and each layer flows smoothly over the adjacent layer. It generally occurs at low flow velocities. The Reynolds number is usually less than 2000 in pipe flow. It is commonly observed in narrow tubes and laboratory equipment. Example: The slow flow of glycerin through a narrow tube. Importance: Laminar flow is useful in laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, and clean rooms where controlled and uniform airflow is required.
